DAYTONA BEACH, FL (May 11, 2011) – With a fundraising goal of $4,000, the cheerleading squad at Daytona State College will be hosting a series of activities throughout May and June to enable them to attend the Universal Cheerleaders Association’s College Spirit Camp that will be hosted locally by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
“The three-day camp is a great opportunity for the 2011-12 Daytona State College Cheerleaders to receive instruction and choreography in cutting edge dance routines,” said Cheerleading Coach Samantha Payne. “The College Spirit Camps have a proven reputation of helping teams like ours develop positive fan behavior standards and good sportsmanship practices for Game Day.”
Fundraising events include:
$5 Car Wash – Saturday, June 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. – cheerleaders will set up car washing central in front of the Business Hall (bldg. 150) on the Daytona Beach Campus at 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd.
Yard Sale – Saturday, June 18, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. – this will be set up in Orange B parking lot at the corner of White Street and W. International Speedway Boulevard. on the Daytona Beach Campus. Tables will be available for rental; please pre-register by calling (386) 795-6974.
$100 Gas Card Raffle – winning ticket will be drawn on July 1; tickets available for purchase from members of the Falcon Cheer Club - contact Sylvia Zuelch at (386) 506-3392.
